A Silent Auction Helps You Save Money and More
Save Money With A Silent Auction.
A Silent auction is an absolutely great way to save money with a limited shopping budget, or find unique items which include clothing for all seasons, household utensils, musical instruments, toys, antiques, and many more items that would normally cost astronomical amounts of money to purchase in retail stores.
If you don't know how to find silent auctions or have never attended one, they might be turn out to be a lot more fun, and much easier to track down than you imagine after reading the information in this Hub.
The fact is bidding in a silent auction can help you save on your household expenses, and more because when you win your charity auction items the money from your winning auction bid is used to help the less fortunate citizens in the community where you live.
Look around your neighborhood, and if there is a Salvation Army Charitable Organization it's worth it to drop by, and check out the auction items you can save money with by placing a silent bid that will help improve the quality of someone's life when you win.
Charitable organizations like the Salvation Army usually conduct silent auctions every one to two weeks depending on the location where you reside. Unless they're of great value like a famous artist painting or something of that nature which isn't unheard of, auction items often start out at a very miniscule price, and increase by at least one dollar on the opening bid.
After that you can bid as much or as little as you like depending on how much you want the auction items you bid on, the actual monetary value, your budget, and the amount of time you have to keep track of the bids placed during the silent auctions.

Auction Items Saves You Money On Everything
Silent Auction Items Are Usually Cheap and Unique
Silent auction items are surprisingly very cheap, and quite often very rare or unique shopping finds. These charitable auction items save you money on just about everything you can possibly imagine that is legal to sell.
The pictures on this Hub represent a very small selection of the auction items that I have been able to snag at ridiculously low prices in the last two months from October to December 2011, and save money with.
All of these charitable auction items which I placed the winning bid on at the weekly Salvation Army silent auction in my city of residence add up to less than three hundred dollars in total, and they're probably worth three time more than what I paid for them.
They were all in perfect condition, the majority of them were brand new, plus the bid started at less than five dollars for most of the discount merchandise except the hand woven carpet, and personal desktop computer which had a starting auction bid of fifteen dollars each.
The key to winning the items you bid on in a silent auction is persistence. You need to create a strategy for going to the thrift stores to place your auction bids that is suitable to your schedule, and it's also wise to make note of the closing dates for placing bids.
Visit the auction as close to the last day as possible to place your final bid. I usually go a little higher, sometimes as much as five dollars more than the last bidder to increase my chances of placing the winning bid on the silent auction item I want.
One major benefit of attending a silent auction is it gives you time to consider the amount of money you want to spend on the auction items you're bidding on, and it removes the pressure of live auctions where you have to compete with other bidders in a short space of time.
You're also able to remain anonymous, and can usually arrange a pick-up time for the auction items you win within a forty-eight to seventy-two hours time frame that is convenient for you.
Whether you're in search of antique furniture, baby presents, birthday presents for hard to shop for people, christmas gifts, discount bedding, duvet covers, gifts for mom, engagement presents, household products, vintage jewelry, toddler toys, or unique gifts you can save money with a silent auction, and also help raise much needed funds for a worthwhile charitable cause in your community.

Happy New Year, too Genesis. I should check it out-maybe I could find something on the Salvation Army's website? Thanks, and your welcome.

Silent Auctions sound like a great idea. I don't know if the Salvation Army where I live have Silent Auctions or not. It would be a good way to save money. Voted up. Great hub. The items in the pictures look really nice.
